GAIT Summer Scholars
GAIT Scholars are young black men in grades 6-12 who have excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven leadership abilities, and a clear trajectory for growth. To be a GAIT Scholar, the young man must have an opportunity for personal, academic, or career development on or around Capitol Hill. GAIT Scholars receive a day of informational interviews, networking opportunities, and a mentorship luncheon in Washington, DC. Applications open in the late spring for each summer session.

Internship Award
The GAIT Foundation invites eligible interns to apply for the David Baldwin Barnes Internship Award. This important initiative provides unpaid summer interns on Capitol Hill with financial support and professional development opportunities. Look out for more information about this initiative in March each year.
